Show was good, seating sucked, obstructed view
The chemistry between David Lindley and AFI was impressive, and the show was good. David Lindley, an absolute master of strings, had a really enjoyable set. The crowd was pretty subdued, and maybe even bored, until some old tunes were played. However, too much unknown work was performed, possibly because an artist has a new recording to plug.
The seating at this venue was poor due to the lack of notations on the seating chart regarding obstructed view. Unfortunately, a large support pole obstructed center stage, making AFI out of sight for much of the concert. Had an obstruction been noted, I would have chosen another set of tickets, but the website labeled them as great seats. I believe I deserve a portion of my ticket price returned. Choose your seat carefully at Pier 6 Baltimore; as far as I could tell, the center section was the only one without obstructed view.
